For the past few weeks, I have contemplated writing a little about some of my favorite things. I love how material items can have a story to them, especially clothes. For as long as I can remember, I have been attracted to worn in clothing. There is a history to an old shirt or an old pair of jeans. They have traveled places. They've had a wide number of experiences. When I see something in a thrift store that has been battered and torn up, I want to know where that thing has been.
These are my Nudie Jeans. For those familiar with raw denim, Nudie is brand that stands out as one of the best. The Swedish brand excels at making quality clothing items for the modern man and woman. These particular jeans belonged to my wife for several years. When she first got them, they were a dark indigo color. She wore them for about 4 years before passing them on to me. I've now had them for around 3 years. They are without-a-doubt one of the best fitting pairs of jeans that I own. Nudies market their raw denim jeans as a sort of second skin. You wear them for the first 9-10 months without washing them, and all of your natural creases and stresses start to show through the fabric. After the first wash, you start to notice the color fading in the areas that have been worn in. After 3 years of wearing these (and the 4 years that my wife wore them) they have worn in quite a bit!
